Our professional staff archaeologists
and historians will instruct the participants in this program
in site etiquette, archaeological methodology and in the lifeways
of the ancient cultures.
The sites at which we work are not restored.
They are in remote locations, off the beaten path, and in most
cases have been touched only by the elements for the last 1000
Because these sites are remote
and unrecorded, there is no telling what may be found: pot sherds,
tools, the implements used to make tools, petroglyphs or other
art objects, all unseen since their makers abandoned them. These
artifacts are the building blocks of our knowledge of the ancient
peoples, and of the historic period as well.
